About Me:
Dr. Deanna Mercado is a Clinical Psychologist and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She holds a Doctor of Psychology degree and a Master of Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work.
Background:
I am a first-generation Latina with passion to serve communities across the Central Valley. My passion and research include the focus of Latino and immigrant studies. My research includes the publication titled “The Lived Experiences of First Generation Mexican American Women in America”.
I am a bilingual clinician with over 14 years’ experience in the field of behavioral health, trained in the traditions of depth Psychology. I strive to provide a safe and therapeutic environment for healing and transformation. Therapy is an opportunity to explore and heal psyche and achieve wholeness and happiness.
Over the last 14 years, I have worked with all age groups, and have devoted my career to providing therapeutic treatment to the severally mentally ill population in unserved and underserved communities. I am trained in the areas of crisis management, intervention, de-escalation, advanced threat assessment and threat management on school campuses, within the workplace and local communities. My background also includes psychological testing and evaluations for various needs such as intellectual/ developmental disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Workman’s Comp evaluations, Child Welfare Services reunification evaluations, sexually violent predatory evaluations and forensic interviews and evaluations.
